Assistant City Manager and Rotarian Mike Whaley spoke to the club today about the water supply situation in Burkburnett. The city has purchased 470+ acres near the current water treatment facility, and plans to drill 26 to 28 wells to increase the water production of the treatment plant up to its full capacity. Currently the facility is at half of that capacity. The goal is to increase the production by one million gallons per day, and decrease the amount of water purchased from Wichita Falls.
